Head over the East side of Downtown Indianapolis for a 2 hour guided tour of the last public market house in Indianapolis- the City Market. During this tour you will have the chance to try sweet and savory plates that represent the history and culture of the City Market.

Built in 1886, and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the City Market has not only been the best source for fresh food and carefully crafted products, but also a community gathering place. As you stroll through the market you will stop at the best eateries and shops to meet with the vendors, learn their stories and try their specialty dishes. The Market is full of a smorgasbord of flavors; some of the delicious bites you may try include freshly made chips, caramel corn, French crepes, family crafted soups and more!

The City Market Culinary Tour Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. You will be joined by 10 to 12 additional participants on the tour.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests or spectators.

The City Market Food Tours are offered on Saturdays, year-round, subject to availability. Tours typically begin at 10:00 AM.

The Indiana City Market Food Tours have a tour length of approximately 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2¼ hours.

The Indianapolis Food Tours of City Market take place in all weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are suggested for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

Additional Information hide

Tours include 1 to 1½ miles of walking and there are typically four to six stops for food tastings. Participants may bring a bottle of water or non-alcoholic beverage on the tour.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made and locations visited on the tour are subject to change.

Gratuities for your tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

You will have the opportunity to purchase additional food and beverages after the experience, therefore participants are urged to bring additional spending money.
