Step aboard the historic Clipper City, New York’s only Tall ship, and prepare for a romantic evening on the water. During this two hour sail you will have the chance to enjoy the Skyline at night while listening to soulful live Jazz.

This sailing adventure begins when you leave the hustle and bustle of the City behind and board the Clipper City. Meet the friendly Captain and crew who will set the massive sails of the largest Sailing Ship in New York and embark on an idyllic Sail around the Manhattan Harbor. Listen to the cool rhythms of bebop, ballads, smoky blues and other jazz melodies as you float smoothly down the Hudson River. Feel the cool summer breeze and take in the twinkling lights of the New York City Skyline at night. Purchase a cocktail from the full service bar and view the light of the Stature of Liberty against the black of the night or hit the dance floor and get lost in the tunes of acclaimed jazz musicians.

The New York Jazz Sails are offered on select Wednesday through Sunday, May through October, subject to availability. Sails typically depart at 7:30 PM.

How Long Is It

The NY Jazz Concert Sails have a sail time of approximately 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2¾ hours.

Weather

The New York Sails may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

The Clipper City is 158' long, with masts and rigging reaching up 120' from the deck, and is New York's largest sailing vessel. The Ship, which can accommodate up to 144 passengers, is a replica of the lumber-hauling schooners from more than a century ago. It was built in the mid-1980s using plans purchased from the Smithsonian. Her decks are spacious and comfortable, with ample seating, a full bar and a raised quarter deck back aft that allows for unparalleled views of the the New York harbor.

Beverages are not included and may be purchased from the full bar onboard the Ship.

Gratuities for your Captain and Crew are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.
