Launched in July 2005, the Sacramento RiverTrain is one of the nation's newest dinner trains. Trips aboard the train feature food and entertainment while you roll through the countryside.
While the RiverTrain is new, the equipment and railroad have a long history. The Train operates on the 16-mile "Woodland Branch" between Woodland and West Sacramento, CA. The Woodland Branch was constructed in 1911 by the Northern Electric Co. as the Sacramento and Woodland Railroad to link the fertile farmlands of Yolo County with the developing city of Sacramento. At its peak, the Woodland Branch offered eight roundtrip passenger trains daily from Woodland to Sacramento.
Participation is limited to individuals 13 years and older. Unfortunately, historic nature of the train cars this experience is not handicap friendly.
Dinner options include Beef, Chicken, or Vegetarian.
Gratuity is not included and can be extended to your server onboard.
