Watch the New York City Skyline drift by as you step aboard the beautiful Clipper City Tall Ship, a 158 foot replica of a classic turn of the century Timber-Hauling Topsail Schooner. Departing from Battery Park on the Hudson, this beautiful sightseeing sail in New York Harbor is a great way to enjoy the NY Skyline and enjoy the outdoors.

After you board the ship, you may choose to help raise the sails or sit back and soak up the sun. Feel the breeze as you sail south down the Hudson River along Battery Park passing by Ellis Island for a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty. You will also sail past Governors Island and the Financial District as the majestic topsail Schooner teases her bow under the Brooklyn Bridge.

This Manhattan Sail is the perfect water experience affording you an exquisite tour of New York City. Whether you are a native New Yorker, or this is your first visit to the Big Apple, this sightseeing sail on the East River is a wonderful gift for any occasion.

Who Is Included hide

The Manhattan Clipper Ship Sailing Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. There will be up to 140 additional participants on the sail.

When It Is Offered hide

The Manhattan Clipper City Ship Sails are offered seven days a week from May to October, subject to availability. Sails depart at 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Sunset Sails depart at 7:00 PM June thru mid September and at 630 PM mid September thru the end of October.

How Long Is It hide

The Big Apple Clipper City Ship Sails have a sail time of approximately 60 to 90 Minutes during the Day Sail and two hours during the Sunset Sail.

Weather hide

The New York Clipper Ship Sailing may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather. If a reservation is cancelled due to weather, you will receive a rain-check valid for one year from that date which can be used towards another reservation. The rain-check is non-refundable.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

Additional Information hide

The Clipper City is 158' long, with masts and rigging reaching up 120' from the deck, and is New York's largest sailing vessel. The Ship, which can accommodate up to 144 passengers, is a replica of the lumber-hauling schooners from more than a century ago. It was built in the mid-1980s using plans purchased from the Smithsonian. Her decks are spacious and comfortable, with ample seating, a full bar and a raised quarter deck back aft that allows for unparalleled views of the the New York harbor.

Beverages are not included and may be purchased onboard the Ship.

Gratuities for your Captain and Crew are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

All changes to reservations for the Manhattan Clipper Ship Sailing require seven (7) days advance notice.
