Get ready for thrills and spills on the South-Fork of the American River during this full-day Whitewater Rafting Adventure. Perfect for all skill levels, this Class III Rafting Trip is a great way to spend time out on the waters of this California River!

The fun begins in the morning when you meet your Guide at the Rafting Center located 50 minutes east of Sacramento in Coloma, CA. You will receive a brief orientation and safety overview prior to heading out to the river where you’ll receive your paddle and life jacket. Once ready you’ll launch rafts and practice paddling skills as you head for some easy rapids to get started. Next, the real fun of this outdoor adventure begins! You will paddle a total of thirteen miles down the American River. Satan’s Cesspool and the Hospital Bar rapids make this an adventure to remember!

The South Fork Rafting Trips are offered Thursday through Tuesday, the end of May to September, subject to availability. Trips typically begin at 8:00 AM.

How Long Is It

The American River Whitewater Rafting includes a 21 mile rafting trip and has a total duration of approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Weather

The South Fork American River Whitewater Rafting may be rescheduled due to high winds, heavy rain or other inclement weather, and low water levels. All decisions to cancel, move, or postpone scheduled trips will be made by the Guide the day of the reservation.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, and bring a change of clothing. Recommended items include a water bottle, swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt, a fleece or jacket, outdoor sandals or non-slip sneakers, sunglasses or hat and sunscreen. Flip-Flops are not permitted and cotton clothing is not recommended.

Your rafting experience will take place with a Professional Guide and includes all rafting gear, and life jackets (life jackets will fit a maximum chest size of 52 inches).

Participants are advised to be well rested. Please avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to the scheduled experience.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions such as heart or lung conditions, severe asthma, back problems, recent surgery, obesity or osteoporosis or any other condition which is considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.

The recommended minimum age for participants is 7 years old. All participants must be in good physical condition and know how to swim. For your safety reasons, Guides reserve the right to turn away anyone they feel will jeopardize the safety of the trip.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.
