Leap from a plane approximately 2½ miles above the ground and freefall for 60 seconds over Toledo, Washington. The fun begins at the Ed Carlson Memorial Airport, where you will meet with experienced Skydive Jumpmasters before suiting up for your Tandem Skydive Experience!

After a briefing on training and safety, you will completely understand the equipment and the sequence of events. You and your jumpmaster will board the aircraft wearing a dual harness assembly. Once you reach your jump altitude you will exit the aircraft securely harnessed to your instructor for an unbelievable freefall at 120 MPH! After your parachute opens you will have a scenic 4 to 6 minute ride.

Because your instructor is with you all the way to landing, there is no need for you to worry about anything during your jump except to remember to relax and have fun. Your instructor will take care of everything which will allow you to completely enjoy yourself.

The Tandem Skydives in Toledo are offered Saturday and Sunday, April to November, subject to availability. Reservations are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

How Long Is It

The Toledo Tandem Skydives include a ground orientation and training, a 60 second freefall with a 4 to 6 minute parachute ride and a total duration of approximately 3-6 hours (depending on weather).

Weather

The Tandem Skydive Over Toledo may be rescheduled by the instructor due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, in layers. Flat rubber-soled shoes such as tennis shoes are recommended for this adventure. You will be provided with a jump-suit to wear during the experience. Jewelry, flip flops and opened toed shoes are not permitted.

Additional Information

Participants must be over the age of 18 years old with a valid government issued Photo ID. The maximum weight limit for participants under 6' is 200lbs and over 6' is 230lbs.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate. The consumption of alcohol or any illegal drug prior to skydiving is strictly prohibited.

All jumpmasters and instructors have current USPA ratings. All staff members are professionals, chosen for their commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. Video and Photo Packages are available and may be purchased on the day of your jump.

Skydive Monterey

Excellent experience! This was my wife's first jump and my third (and easily the best). The staff was incredible and the drop itself was a once in a lifetime experience. Spectacular scenery, top notch service, it is with no reservations that I highly recommend this trip to anyone considering jumping for the first time, or with other skydiving experiences under their belt. Thank you, it was the highlight of a wonderful trip for my wife and I.

Question: Am I allowed to bring a camera on my first tandem jump?

Answer: No. You must have completed at least 200 solo jumps before you are are allowed to bring any video or camera equipment.
Question: I am looking for a unique birthday present for my son who is about to turn 16. Can he skydive if I sign a release or waiver?

Answer: The minimum age to skydive is 18 years old with no exceptions. The skydiving school requires all participants to bring a valid photo ID as proof of age.
Question: I got this skydive for my birthday and have never been before. What happens if the weather is poor on the day of my jump?

Answer: If the skydiving school cancels your jump for bad weather they will reschedule you directly.
Question: What does it feel like to jump out of a plane. I hate roller coasters. Is the initial drop similar to the first drop on a coaster?

Answer: Not at all. Roller coasters are designed to give you that sudden drop feeling. In skydiving you are pulled to terminal velocity by your own weight. Most people describe the feeling as floating or even flying.
Question: Will I be allowed to take control once the canopy deploys?

Answer: Yes! Well, at least you'll be able to help. The tandem rig is equipped with 2 sets of handles. Your instructor will go over it in your ground class but it's pretty simple, pull right to go right and pull left to go left. Pull on both handles at the same time and it will slow you down. Your instructor will ask for your help to slow down your descent on the landing.
