Step aboard this 105’ Schooner for an exciting two-hour sailing adventure through New York Harbor. This experience gift is an outdoor adventure you are sure to remember for years to come.

The excitement begins at Chelsea Piers on the west side of Manhattan where you will board this beautiful ship. Built in 2011, she is a replica of the famous Schooner America built in 1851 and winner of the America’s Cup! Upon arrival to the Pier you will be greeted by the friendly Captain and Crew. Once everyone is on board it’s time for cast-off. The Captain will expertly guide this magnificent vessel away from the dock and south down the Hudson River to Lady Liberty herself. Throughout this sightseeing adventure you will have the opportunity to take in the views of the City Skyline from Chelsea Piers to the Financial District.

Whether you are a native New Yorker, or this is your first visit to the Big Apple, this scenic sail on the Hudson River is one of the best things to do in Manhattan and makes a unique gift for every occasion!

The America 2.0 Schooner Sailing Trips are offered Thursday thru Sunday from May thru October, subject to availability. Sails typically depart at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM and the City Lights Sail typically departs at 9:00 PM.

The Manhattan Harbor Schooner Sails have a sail length of 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2½ hours.

Weather

The New York Harbor Sail Trips take place in all weather conditions, but may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

The America 2.0 is designed after the famous Schooner America that was built in 1851 in New York harbor. That same year, America won the international race known today as the America's Cup.

Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided on day sails. Wine and champagne will be available for purchase. Three rounds of drinks will be served, but this is not an unlimited booze-cruise. The aim is to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all guests. Food is not served during the sail, but passengers are welcome to bring snacks or a light picnic on board.

Smoking and outside drinks are not permitted on board the Schooner. Complimentary ponchos will be provided if it begins to rain. The Schooner is not Wheelchair accessible.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on evening Sails.

Gratuity for the Captain & Crew is not included and is appreciated at the end of the cruise.

All changes to reservations for Schooner America Sailing New York require fourteen (14) days advance notice. Reservations may only be rescheduled once.

Tea Cruise

The cruise was great. Cabin area was a little tight. The crew was very good, commentator of the sights was very informative. The weather was exceptional. Might have been a little cramped if we had to stay in the cabin area. Overall a wonderful experience.

Question: I would like to purchase this for my boyfriend and I. We will be to driving into the city from New Jersey over the George Washington Bridge. Is there parking close to the docks?

Answer: There is parking available nearby and plenty of public transportation access. Parking and additional Contact information will be provided on your confirmation which you will receive after booking a date.
Question: My husband and I will were gifted this wonderful sail from our children. We would like to bring some snacks and other small items with us. Will there be storage for us to use?

Answer: Yes, there is an area below deck if you have some small items. It is not locked or guarded and the ship will not be responsible for items that are lost, damaged or stolen.
Question: I booked the Schooner sail in New York for parents. In the description is says the "America" is based on a 19th century design. Are there bathrooms on the ship?

Answer: Yes, there are two bathrooms or "marine heads" on the ship. It is a simple pump design and directions are posted how to use them.
Question: My girlfriend bought us on the City Lights Sail for our anniversary. She doesn't really know, but I've gotten seasick on boats before, but not every time. How steady is this cruise?

Answer: If you get seasick only on small vessels you should be okay. The yacht is 80 feet and very stable and it is pretty rare for passengers to get seasick. If you normally take medication for motion sickness you may want to consider it, however the cruise company cannot officially advise you to take any.
