Drift over Philadelphia on a Private Champagne Balloon Flight as you share this wonderful experience with a special guest and your pilot. Your experience begins by helping with the inflation and set up of the balloon at sunrise or few of hours before sunset.

Once aloft, you will fly high enough for panoramic views and low enough to enjoy the excitement of skimming a river or tree tops. You will fly at different altitudes to use the varying wind layers to "steer" the balloon. These winds will take you about 6 miles over the course of the one hour flight. Since you will not fly back to the launch site, the experienced chase crew will be in radio contact and follow you throughout the flight.

They will be there when you land to help pack up the balloon and take you back to the launch site where you enjoy a champagne toast after your flight making this one of the most memorable experiences!

The Philadelphia Hot Air Balloon Flight is offered seven days a week year-round, subject to availability. Flights take place at Sunrise and two hours before Sunset, meeting times will vary upon the time of year the flight is scheduled.

The Philadelphia Balloon Ride has a flight time of approximately 1 hour and a total duration of approximately 3 hours.

Weather

The Philadelphia Private Hot Air Balloon Rides are dependent on favorable weather, and can only fly when the conditions are safe. Flights may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

For the Philadelphia Private Balloon Ride, please dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this open air adventure.

Participation in the Hot Air Balloon is limited to individuals weighing less than 225lbs, between 4' and 6'5" tall and at least 8 years of age

Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight.

With out question, do it, do it , do it. What a wonderful experience! We had a beautiful fall day, with the leaves changing color. Oour pilot, couldn't have been more informative and pleasant. This was a really nice, scenic, relaxing experience. Our pilot and crew were wonderful, scheduling was easy and we were kept up to date about weather conditions. It was a bit hazy and threatened to rain, but we flew anyway. It was nice to have another balloon going up with us to provide some nice views. This is key to an ideal experience.

Question: What will the temperature be like? Should we bring extra layers?

Answer: The temperature only changes about 1 or 2 degrees every thousand feet. For most of your flight, the temperature will be between 1 and 4 degrees cooler than the temperature on the ground – barely noticeable. Plus the balloon will be pushed by the wind. So no wind chill!
Question: How does the pilot steer the balloon?

Answer: He doesn't really steer. The wind changes directions at different altitude, so by ascending and descending he can change the direction the balloon is traveling. Part of the fun of the hot air balloon is you never know exactly where you are going to land.
Question: I have a booking for my girlfriend and I to take a Hot Air Balloon ride near Philadelphia and am going to use the opportunity to propose to my girlfriend. Would it be possible to ask the pilot to fly over a "Will You Marry Me" sign that I lay out the night before.

Answer: Unfortunately, since the pilot is relying on the wind, he would not be able to guarantee that he can fly over your sign.
Question: Where do we take off from and where do we land?

Answer: The balloons take normally take off from an open field at Quakertown Airport. Because balloons fly with the wind, the landing site changes virtually every flight. Generally, it will be an open field somewhere within a 10-mile radius of our launch point. Exact location details will be provided with the confirmation of your booking.
